IMPORTANT NOTE FOR MAC USERS WITH NEW MAC OS (> June 2024)
On newer versions of Mac OS, Apple has made notarizing the apps mandatory, or else, it shows a dialog with text like (when running the app):
<App> can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.
If this happens, just open your terminal and paste this command:
# For Apple Silicon
xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine ~/Downloads/DownloadsDirector-1.0.0-mac_arm64.dmg
# For Intel Macs
xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine ~/Downloads/DownloadsDirector-1.0.0-mac_x64.dmg
These commands are safe to run and simply remove that restriction placed by Apple.
Once done, delete existing installed app and re-install it from the downloaded DMG. This time it should work without throwing off this warning.
Be assured, the app is completely safe and has been properly signed using Apple provided certificate.
Start organizing today and say goodbye to a cluttered Downloads folder.
You'll get a DMG file (either ARM, or x64 corresponding to M-series chips or Intel chips)
